Tag your chemicals

Put a tag such as Programme: Foliar feed on one chemical or many at once, in every store at once, and take it off again.

A chemical tag says something about a product that Intecrop does not already know, in your own words. The usual one is which programme the product belongs to. A buyer may want your crop protection records without the foliar feeds, so you tag the foliar feeds Programme: Foliar feed. A tag has a key, Programme, and a value, Foliar feed.

Here, the farm has two stores, Hoofstoor and Buitestoor, and two foliar feeds: Blaarvoer Plus, which is in both stores, and Spoorvoer Zn, which is only in Buitestoor. Blaarvoer Plus is tagged by hand, then both foliar feeds at once.

Only a farm admin or a manager can put tags on chemicals and take them off. Everyone else on the farm can see them.

Tag one chemical

Open the chemical from the Chemicals list. Under Details is the Tags card. It shows the tags the chemical has, or No tags on this chemical yet.

Under Key, choose a key or type a new one. Under Value, choose a value or type a new one. Press Add tag.

The Tags card on Blaarvoer Plus in Hoofstoor, with Programme and Foliar feed typed in

The tag shows on the card. A chemical has only one value for a key: if it already had a Programme, the new value takes its place.

To take a tag off the chemical, press the cross on it.

The same tags in every store

A tag goes on the product, not on one store's stock of it. Tag Blaarvoer Plus in Hoofstoor, and Blaarvoer Plus in Buitestoor shows the tag too, without anything done there.

Blaarvoer Plus in Buitestoor, already tagged Programme: Foliar feed

Take it off in one store and it comes off in all of them.

Tag many chemicals at once

On the Chemicals list, open Actions and choose Tag chemicals. On a phone the menu is hidden; the round + button at the bottom right offers Tag chemicals instead.

The Actions menu on the Chemicals list, with Tag chemicals

It offers each of your chemicals once, by name, even when it is in more than one store: Blaarvoer Plus has one box, not two. Nothing is ticked to start with. Tick the chemicals you want:

  • All chemicals ticks every chemical.
  • Under Categories there is a box for each category, and under Stores a box for each store, which ticks all of its chemicals. Here, Fertiliser (group 2) ticks both foliar feeds. Buitestoor is then ticked too, because both its chemicals are, and Hoofstoor shows a dash, because only one of its four is. All chemicals shows a dash for the same reason.
  • Each chemical also has a box of its own.

Choose the key and the value as you would on one chemical. The line next to Tag says what pressing it will do, here Puts Programme: Foliar feed on 2 chemicals. A chemical that already has a Programme gets this value instead. Press Tag.

Tag chemicals, with Fertiliser (group 2) ticked and Programme: Foliar feed chosen

Intecrop confirms with Tagged 2 chemicals Programme: Foliar feed. A chemical is tagged in every store it is in.

The list shows each chemical's tags under its name, in every store.

Take a key off many chemicals

Open Tag chemicals again. If you have many chemicals, type part of a name in Find by name... to find one quickly. That only hides the other boxes, and All chemicals and the category and store boxes with them; what you ticked stays ticked.

Tick the chemicals, press Clear a key, and choose the key. Whatever value each chemical has under that key comes off; a chemical without the key is left as it is. The line next to Clear says so, here Takes Programme off the chosen chemical, if it has it. Press Clear.

Tag chemicals in Clear a key, with spoor typed in Find by name, Spoorvoer Zn ticked and Programme chosen

Intecrop confirms with Took Programme off 1 chemical. Spoorvoer Zn no longer shows the tag; Blaarvoer Plus still does, in both stores.

Where chemical tags count

On the application summary you can leave out, or keep only, the chemicals that carry a tag. See Create an application summary.

To rename a tag, merge two, or delete one from every chemical at once, use the Tags page in the menu on the left.

Try it on your own farm

Record your applications, track what they cost, and print the reports you need at audit time.
